2 cups butter or margarine, softened
2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 eggs
4 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
dash of salt
5 cups dry oatmeal
1 (12 oz) package chocolate chips
1/2 cup raisins (optional)
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, beat butter, sugars, vanilla and eggs

In small bowl, combine flour baking soda, baking powder and salt

Place oatmeal in blender or food processor a blend to powder (should now measure about 3 cups)

Add oatmeal and dry ingredients to egg mixture; mix well. Add chocolate chips, raisins and nuts. Drop by teaspoons 2" apart onto ungreased cookie sheet

Bake at 350º for 8 - 10 minutes or until golden brown
