1 cup margarine, melted
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup raisins
2 cups flour
1 cup nuts
1/2 teaspoon whole anise seed
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
Combine butter, sugar, eggs, raisins, nuts and anise seed; mis well. Gradually add flour, baking soda and salt; mix well. Divide the dough in half and sprinkle some flour over a flat surface. Shape the two sections of dough into two long loafs.

Place on cookie sheet and bake at 350º for 30 minutes.

Remove from oven and let cool for about 5 minutes. Cut into 1-inch slices and put back into oven and bake for 10 more minutes.
