2 cups whole wheat flour or other flour if your dog is sensitive to wheat
1 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup peanut butter; smooth or chunky
1 1/4 cups hot water

Additional flour for rolling

Preheat oven to 350º

Mix dry ingredients. Mix in peanut butter into hot water. If too sticky, add a small amount of flour.

Knead the dough well. Roll out dough into 1/4 inch thickness and cut into shapes with cookie cutters.

Note: An egg wash (1 edd whisked with a fork and brushed on with a pastry brush) on the treats before baking will provide a nice sheen one they are baked.

Bake on a lightly greased cookie sheet for 40 minutes. turn off the oven and let them cool overnight.

After: The cookies get very hard, just the way dogs like them!

Storing: Store in an air tight container. Will keep for 1 week at room temperature, 3 weeks in the refrigerator or 6 months in the freezer.
