1 1/2 cups butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour -all purpose flour
1 tsp each - baking powder, baking soda, salt
2 cups oatmeal
2 cups rice krispies
1 1/2 chocolate chips
1/2 cup well chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together butter, sugars, eggs & vanilla in large mixing bowl. I use electric mixer. In separate bowl sift flour, baking powder, soda & salt.
Add rice krispies, oats, chocolate chips & nuts and stir well. Stir into wet ingredients and drop by large tablespoon onto parchment paper or well greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350' for approximately 10 minutes until pale gold.
Cool for a few minutes and transfer to cooling rack.
I often half this recipe.

I find that I like to use a lesser amount of the sugars and I often use whole wheat flour to add fiber.
These cookies are much like chocolate chip cookies, only crispier.
I like to bake them as soon as I mix, so the rice krispies are still crunchie.
