1 can whole cranberry sauce
1 stick unsalted butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sour cream
Optional - 1 cup of chopped nuts
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon almond extract

Beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy (3 minutes). Beat the eggs one at a time then add vanilla. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Add the sour cream and beat lightly until incorporated. Pour half of the batter into greased tube pan. Spread half of the cranberry sauce over the batter. Add the remaining batter over sauce and top with the rest of the sauce. If desired add the nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out dry. Cool in pan for 20 minutes and turn in platter twice so sauce/nuts are on top.
Whisk together the icing ingredients until consistency is best to drizzle over the cake.
