1/2 cup shortening
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup oatmeal
1 T butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla add blend well. Add flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda and mix(not completely). Then add oatmeal and fully mix all ingredients. Form into 1-inch balls and place on cookie sheet. Gently flatten with fork or palm of hand. Bake at 350 8-10 minutes. Makes 24-30 cookies.
