1 c. shortening
1 c. peanut butter
1 c. powdered sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/3 c. oil

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and peanut butter; add sugars, eggs and vanilla. Beat well; add oil. Add dry ingredients. Make small balls or use number 40 dipper. Press with a fork in a crisscross pattern (dip fork in sugar first). Bake at 350º for 8-10 minutes. Yields 3-4 dozen.

These freeze well (actually really good frozen). The original author stated she usually doubled this recipe as they were a family favorite.
