Personal Notes:
On cold autumn and winter days, I used to make this soup around 2:30 or 3:00 in the afternoon. By the time the boys came home the house was full of the aroma of chicken and they were ready to sneak a peek at what was simmering on the stove. Sometimes if I had to do something in the evening, I would leave it on the stove, knowing that whenever the men got home they would help themselves and settle in for a cozy evening with a bowl of soup and some crusty, bread.
