2 Cups Black Berry Jam
2 Cups sugar
2 Cups plain flour
1/4 cup margarine
6 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
1 tsp soda and 1/4 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Separate eggs. Beat egg yolks, add jam, sugar and margarine. Mix well, add milk, mix well. Add flour, spices and salt, mix well. Add soda. Beat egg whites stiff and add to the cake mixture. Mix well, use a mixer only for beating egg whites. Bake at 350 for approximately 30 minutes.

Frosting, 1 Cup pecans, 1 cup dates, 1 box brown sugar, 11/2 cup evaporated milk and 1/2 cup margarine,mix in heavy pan or skillet.. Boil until becomes thick and then add vanilla.
