1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
2 cups light brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter in a large saucepan and cool slightly. Stir in the brown sugar and eggs. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt, and vanilla.

Pour batter into a greased 13 x 9" pan or two 8” or 9" cake pans.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the pan comes out clean.

This is an old family favorite. No one seems to know from where the recipe originated, but it's expected that there will be a pan or two at Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthdays, and anything in between.
