1 tsp. dry yeast
1/4 C. warm water
3/4 C. milk
1 C. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in warm water in glass or plastic bowl. Stir in milk. Stir flour in gradually. Beat until smooth-cover with towel. Let stand in warm draft-free place until starter begins to ferment. (about 24 hrs.) Bubbles will appear on surface of water. When starter becomes foamy stir well. Put in container (Glass or with tight fitting cover.) Store in refrigerator. Use starter regularly every week to 10 days-always use a wooden spoon as metal kills the starter.
