1 c buttermilk
1 tsp soda
3/4 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp cloves

1 c blackberry seedless jam or jelly
11/2 c black walnuts
1 c white raisins
1 c sugar
1/4 c butter
1/4 tsp soda
1/2 c buttermilk
1 stick butter
1 c light brown sugar
1/4 c carnation evap milk
2 tsp vanilla

In small bowl take buttermilk and tsp of soda and add together - set aside

In another bowl mix nuts and raisins with 2 tbsp of flour toss together - set aside

In large mixing bowl, cream eggs sugar and oil, mix all other ingredients together thoroughly. Add in buttermilk mixture, then add in nuts and raisins

Bake 350 for 1 hour or more ( depending on your oven) I use a 13x9 pan.

Mix ingredients for sauce bringing to boil for 2-3 minutes and pour over hot cake

Mix ingredients for icing together bring to boil for 2-3 minutes and set aside for 2-3 minutes. If it seems too thin, add some powdered sugar to thicken it up.
Pour over your warm cake. Spread quickly because it will firm up fast!

I always make one of these at Christmas time. It goes good with a cup of coffee or some spiced cider.
