3 eggs
21/2 c plain fl
11/2 c sugar
1 c oil
1 c buttermilk
1 tsp soda
3/4 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp cloves
1 tbsp cocoa
1 c blackberry seedless jam or jelly
11/2 c black walnuts
1 c white raisins
Sauce
1 c sugar
1/4 c butter
1/4 tsp soda
1/2 c buttermilk
Icing
1 stick butter
1 c light brown sugar
1/4 c carnation evap milk
2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In small bowl take buttermilk and tsp of soda and add together - set aside

In another bowl mix nuts and raisins with 2 tbsp of flour toss together - set aside

In large mixing bowl, cream eggs sugar and oil, mix all other ingredients together thoroughly. Add in buttermilk mixture, then add in nuts and raisins

Bake 350º for 1 hour or more ( depending on your oven) I use a 13x9 pan.

Mix ingredients for sauce bringing to boil for 2-3 minutes and pour over hot cake

Mix ingredients for icing together bring to boil for 2-3 minutes and set aside for 2-3 minutes. If it seems too thin, add some powdered sugar to thicken it up.
Pour over your warm cake. Spread quickly because it will firm up fast!

I always make one of these at Christmas time. It goes good with a cup of coffee or some spiced cider.
