1 C. Molasses
2 1/2 C. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 T. Lard or shortening
1 T. ginger
5 T. boiling water in which 1 tsp. of baking soda has been dissolved

Directions:
Directions:
Heat molasses and lard/shortening together, then stir in baking soda water. Let foam up well, then stir in flour. Mix and roll out soft as can be handled. Bake in rather a quick oven. Watch to keep from burning. Add more flour if needed.
