6-8 potatoes
1/2 small onion (optional)
2 Tbsp butter
5 Tbsp flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
3 cups milk (approximately)

Directions:
Directions:
Butter the baking dish. Use a deep enough baking dish that the potatoes will not boil over. Peel and thinly slice potatoes directly into dish. Add thinly sliced onion. Sprinkle with flour, salt, and pepper; toss lightly. Dot with butter. Pour milk over potatoes, enough to cover. Again be sure that the baking dish is deep enough to prevent the potatoes from making a mess of the oven. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes.
