1lb ground beef
1 small white onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 29oz can tomato sauce
1 15oz can tomato sauce
1 8oz can tomato sauce
1 6oz can tomato paste
1 tsp salt
1 tsp italian seasoning
1 tsp basil
1 large bay leaf
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tsp (or more to taste) Crystal Louisiana Hot Sauce

Brown hamburger and onion in skillet
Drain grease and transfer to large pot
Add tomato sauce and remaining ingredients
Cook over low heat for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to blend

If using for Lasagna, add a tablespoon of sugar

Pour over cooked pasta and top with Parmesan cheese

For low carb - use spiralized zucchini or roasted eggplant as base. Spaghetti squash can also be used but has more of a crunchy texture

This started as my mothers recipe but she used garlic and onion powders and also added water to the sauce and probably only a half pound of hamburger as she was trying to stretch her dollars. She also didn't use tomato paste resulting in a thinner sauce. I loved my mother's sauce so I think the magic ingredient is the Crystal sauce.
