1 stick butter
1 c. brown sugar
5 eggs
1 1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
pinch of salt
French bread (sliced) or a loaf of Texas Toast

Directions:
Directions:
350º 40-45 minutes (turn 1/2 way thru)

1) Melt butter and mix with brown sugar in a 9 X 13 cake pan
2) lay slices of bread in pan over butter/brown sugar
3) Mix eggs, milk, vanilla and salt.
4) Pour over slices of bread
5) Refrigerate overnight
6) Bake the next morning

This is one of a few recipes that Grandma (Bonnie) Scott shared with me. She used French bread and sliced it real thick. She also said a loaf of French bread will make 2 pans, unless the loaf is very small. Make allowances for the milk and eggs by adding more.
