Cake:
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 sticks butter (softened)
1 cup water
3 tbsp. cocoa
2 eggs (well beaten)
1 tsp soda
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla

Icing:
1 stick butter (softened)
3 tbsp cocoa
6 tbsp milk
3 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup pecans

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Grease and flour a baking pan 10 1/2 x 15 1/2 (or something similar in size).
3. Cake:
- Sift together in a large bowl:
-- 2 cups flour
-- 2 cups sugar
-- 1/2 tsp salt
- In a saucepan bring to a boil:
-- 2 sticks butter (softened)
-- 1 cup water
-- 3 tbsp cocoa
4. Pour mixture over dry ingredients and mix well.
5. Mix together in a separate bowl then add to the cake mix:
-- 2 eggs (well beaten)
-- 1 tsp soda
-- 1/2 cup buttermilk
-- 1 tsp vanilla
6. Mix all ingredients well, pour into greased and floured pan
7. Bake on 350 for 25-30 min.

8.Icing: During the last 5 min of baking make the icing.
- In a saucepan heat until well blended (do NOT boil):
-- 1 stick butter (softened)
-- 3 tbsp cocoa
-- 6 tbsp milk
- Remove from heat and add:
-- 3 cup powdered sugar
-- 1 tsp vanilla
-- 1 cup pecans
- Mix well
9. Pour icing over cake immdetialy after removing from oven
