1 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, chopped
1/4 cup olive oil
2 lb can tomatoes
6 ounces tomato paste
1 Tablespoon basil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1 cup water

Directions:
Directions:
In large saucepan add olive oil and saute onion and garlic until soft. Stir in tomatoes, paste, basil, salt, sugar and water.

Heat to bubbling; reduce heat. Simmer uncovered, stirring frequently.

Cook 15 minutes until sauce has thickened. Makes about 5 cups.
