1/2 lb. butter *
2 cups sugar
1/3 cup cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
1 pie crust

*the recipe actually calls for margarine, but I don't like margarine, so I changed it!!

Melt butter in a medium sauce pan.
Add the sugar, cocoa and vanilla and mix well.
Add one egg at a time, mixing well after each one.(this step is crucial for the pie to turn out correctly)
Pour the mixture into the pie crust and bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes.
If you prefer a dark chocolate flavor, try using Dutch process cocoa.
Top with whipped cream.
