GLAZED TURKEY KEBABS

500G skinless turkey breasts.......................................................1 LB
cut into 2.5 cm (1 inch) cubes

1 medium sweet onion, quartered, separated..............................1

8 whole fresh mushrooms.............................................................8

1 large red or green pepper, seeded, cut into 2.5 cm (1 inch) pieces

4 long wooden or metal skewers...................................................4

* For meat you can use ground turkey meat and shape into meatballs; or use chicken; lamb; beef- be creative......

BASTING GLAZE

75 ml currant, grape or apple jelly.................................................1/3

60 ml Classic BBQ sauce or your favorite BBQ sauce..................1/4

5 ml mustard..................................................................................1 tsp

On 4 skewers, alternately thread, turkey, onion, mushrooms ,and peppers.

In small sauce pan, combine glaze ingredient melts; heat over medium heat; until jelly melts; about 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Brush glaze on kebabs, saving half of the glaze for later.

Grill kebabs over medium hot coals (or broil on broiling pan in oven about 10 cm/4 inches from heat source) for 12-14 minutes or until Turkey reaches the desired doneness. Turn once and baste with glaze halfway through cooking.

Serve with favorite sides - over brown rice with baked winter acorn squash and cranberry sauce; with Yam fries and salad; roasted potatoes and roasted vegetables, anything goes.....even potato salad or potato chips.
