Ingredients:

1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift together the following ingredients:
1 c. flour
1¼ tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
5 heaping T. cocoa

Cream together:
6 T. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg

Filling ingredients:
2½ tsp. flour
½ c. milk
½ c. sugar
½ c. shortening
½ tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
1. Add flour mixture to cream mixture.

2. Add milk and vanilla.

3. Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375º until done.

4. Remove from cookie sheet and let cool.

5. To make filling mix milk and flour in a medium saucepan and bring to scant boil. Cool while creaming sugar and shortening. Add cooled milk mixture to the sugar mixture a little at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Add vanilla and beat until creamy.

6. Put a dollop of cream between two of the chocolate wafers to create the pie.
