Do not use a mixer!

Combine: 2 cups flour
2 cups sugar

Bring to a boil and pour over flour and sugar:
2 sticks butter or margarine
1 cup water
4 tablespoons cocoa

Add: 2 whole eggs
1/2 cup sour milk (1/2 tablespoon lemon juice plus milk to make 1/2 cup) or 1/2 cup
sour cream
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts if desired

Directions:

Pour cake mixture into greased and floured 12" x 9" pan and bake for about 20-30 minutes at 350º.

Chocolate Icing:
Bring to a boil: 6 tablespoons milk
1 stick butter or margarine
4 tablespoons cocoa
Pour over 2 cups powdered sugar.

Poke holes in hot cake and pour icing over cake in pan.
