1 (4-ounce) can mild Hatch green chilies
1 green onion, chopped
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro
1 1/4 teaspoon granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

Prepare salsa verde by combining all ingredients in a food processor on high speed. Pour in a bowl, cover, and chill.
