Ingredients:  
1 stick butter.
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
2 cups sugar
5 egg yolks
2 cups flour
1 t. soda
1 t. vanilla
1/4 t. salt
5 egg whites
1 cup coconut
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup buttermilk
Icing-
1 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 stick butter
1 box powdered sugar
1 t. vanilla
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and shortening. Add sugar and egg yolks. Add flour, salt, soda and buttermilk. Add vanilla, coconut and pecans, Fold in egg whites. Put in 3 round cake pans. Bake layers at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.

Icing-
Beat cream cheese and butter. Add powdered sugar, vanilla and pecans. Spread over layers when cooled.
