6 slices white bread, trimmed and cubed
1/2 cup butter
6 Tbsp. sugar
2 cans (each 8 oz.) walnuts
1 cup dried apricots
1 cup dried apples
1 can (3 1/2 oz.) blanched slivered almonds
1 package (2 3/4 oz.) hazelnuts/filberts
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground mace

Directions:
Saute bread cubes in 4 tbsp. butter until golden
Sprinkle with 2 tbsp. sugar and sauté another minute
In large bowl, combine bread cubes, walnuts, almonds, apricots, apples and hazelnuts.
In a small sauce pan combine remaining 4 tbsp. butter, 4 tbsp. sugar, cinnamon, salt and mace.
Heat and stir until butter is melted and sauce is smooth.
Pour sauce over bread-nut-fruit mixture , toss to coat evenly.

Store tightly covered in refrigerator.
