3/4 c. shortening, part butter, softened
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. lemon extract or 1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
Directions:
Directions:
Mix well shortening, sugar, eggs, and flavoring. Measure flour by dip-level-pour method or by sifting. Blend flour, baking powder, and salt; stir in.
Chill at least 1 hour.
Heat oven to 400º. Roll dough 1/8" thick on floured board. Cut with cookie cutters. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 6 to 8 minutes.
