2 c. sugar
2 c. water
2 c. fresh cranberries, rinsed, patted dry, and picked over
1 c. sugar, plus more for dusting

Directions:
Directions:
Create simple syrup by heating sugar and water until sugar is completely dissolved. Allow mixture to cool a few minutes so the cranberries won't pop.
In a large bowl, pour syrup over the cranberries. Allow to cool. Then cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
Drain liquid from cranberries. Coat with sugar. Take a handful of berries and lay on cookie sheet. pour sugar over and move around to coat. Continue until all are coated.
Spread coated berries out on two cookie sheets and let them dry a couple of hours. Sugar will dry and cranberries will turn into crispy cranberries.
