Banana Pudding Recipe

3/4 c. sugar
1/4 t. salt
3 eggs separated
2 T. flour
2 C. milk
1 t. vanilla
3 ripe bananas
vanilla wafers

Combine 1/2 c. sugar, flour, salt.
Stir in milk
Cook over boiling water in a double boiler stirring constantly until thickened.
Cook uncovered 15 minutes more stirring occasionally.
Beat egg yolks, gradually stirring into hot mixture.
Return to double boiler and cook 5 minutes stirring constantly.
Remove from heat. Add vanilla.

Layer vanilla wafers and sliced bananas, pudding. Repeat layers.

Beat egg whites with 1/4 c. sugar until stiff to make meringue.
Top with meringue.
