Broccoli Cheese Soup Recipe

1 onion, chopped
1/2 cup butter
2 cups milk
2 lbs Velveeta, cubed
8 oz cream cheese, cubed
2 bags frozen broccoli
1 tbsp garlic powder
4 cans chicken broth
1/2 cup flour

1. Saute onion in butter. Meanwhile, heat broccoli in microwave to thaw.
2. Stir broccoli in with onion and over with 3 cans broth; simmer for 5-10 minutes until broccoli is tender.
3. Reduce heat and stir in cubed cheeses until melted
4. Mix in milk and garlic powder
5. In a small bowl, mix flour with 4th can of broth. Stir into soup.
6. Cook stirring frequently until thick.
