Shortbread Crust
lb. butter
c. sugar
2 c. flour

Caramel Filling
lb. butter
c. sugar
1 c. sweetened condensed milk
4 T. corn syrup

Garnish
c. chocolate chips, melted
Finely chopped pecans or walnuts

Preheat oven to 350.
Cream butter and sugar. Add flour. Knead and pat into 10x15-inch pan. Bake 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool.
For the filling add all ingredients to medium saucepan except chocolate and nuts. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Cook until mixture thickens and turns light toffee color, just a couple of minutes. (If cooked to long, the caramel becomes too chewy) Cool slightly. Pour over shortbread crust and let cool completely. Drizzle melted chocolate over caramel. Sprinkle with chopped nuts.
