Ingredients:  
Soften 11/2 T. yeast, 2 T. sugar, 2 t. salt in 2 cups warm water
Add 4 c. white flour. Beat till smooth. Let rise till light and bubbly.
Mix 1/2 c. hot water, 1/3 c. brown sugar, 3 T. shortening. Add to bubbly dough with 2 c. whole wheat flour. Gradually add about 1 c. whole wheat flour while kneading. Let rise till double.
Punch, divide, and shape into 2 large or 3 medium loaves. Let rise again.
Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes.
