1 1/2 c flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp flavoring ( Mom used vanilla)
1 egg
1/3 c sugar
2 tbsp milk
2 tbsp fat - melted (shortening)
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

Cream shortening, sugar and egg
Add flavoring and salt
Stir in flour and baking powder
Add milk if necessary

Make up early and refrigerate
Roll and cut into donuts and fry until brown

Mom would roll the dough out and used a donut cutter to make the circles and 'holes'.
Then she would fry them in a roaster.
We would roll the donuts and holes in cinnamon and sugar as soon as we could touch them!

Some were rolled in powdered sugar because our brother Bobby didn't like cinnamon and sugar!
We loved them as a Fall treat
