3/4 cups shortening (1 c. butter & 1/4 c lard)
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. molasses (orange label)
1 beaten egg
3 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger (or more)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening & sugar. Add molasses and egg and mix. Sift flour before measuring, then add dry ingredients. Roll in small ball, dip in sugar and place 1 inch apart on greased cookie sheet.

Loved these cookies that Grandma always had on hand when we would visit. Hers always were large and really good! I always see her lovely smile and wearing an apron when we would visit.
