2 c. shortening
1 ½ c. brown sugar
1 ½ c. white sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
¾ c. chocolate chips
1 pkg. mint chips
½ c. nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla and mix. Dissolve 2 tsp baking soda in hot water and add to mixture. Add oatmeal and mix together. Fold in chocolate mints, mint chips and nuts. Bake at 350° for 10 – 12 minutes.

This recipe was passed on to me by cousin Patricia (Dreyer) Young. She gave me a collection of Dreyer Family recipes along with a selection of utensils and baking pans at my wedding shower.
