1 lb. bulk Italian pork sausage
6 cups water
2 beef bouillon cubes
1 onion, chopped
2 large carrots, sliced
2 large celery ribs, diced
1 48 oz. can tomato juice
2 8 oz. cans tomato sauce
1 T dried parsley flakes ot 3 t fresh, chopped
1/2 t. sweet basil, crushed
1 t. leaf oregano, crushed
Salt, pepper to taste
1 can (1 lb.)garbanzo beans, drained
1 can (1 lb.) green beans, drained (or not)
1 cup small macaroni noodles or shells

Brown sausage in heavy kettle, drain. Dissolve bullion cubes in water and add to kettle. Add everything down to beans. Simmer with lid on for 6 hours. 30 minutes before serving add the beans, green beans and noodles.Simmer until noodles are tender.

I have never simmered this for 6 hours! 2 or 3 seems to work for me.
Sometimes I add a can of refried beans to make it thicker, more body.
We don't care for garbanzo beans, so I use small white, pinto, or whatever I have.
