1 1/2 lbs. ground round steak
1/4 c. olive oil
1 c. onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (1 lb. & 11-13 oz.) can tomatoes
2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 bay leaf
1 c. ripe olives, cut into large pieces
1/2 lb. mozzarella cheese
1/2 c. parmesan cheese
1 tsp. dried basil
8 sticks lasagna (cooked)

Preheat oven to 350º.

Brown steak in olive oil. Add onion and garlic. Cook until transparent. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, basil, oregano, pepper and bay leaf. Cover and simmer for 1 hour. Stir in olives. Spread 1/4 of the sauce into the bottom of a shallow 7 x 12" baking dish. Cover with a layer of cooked lasagna noodles (arranging strips lengthwise in dish). Add a layer of mozzarella cheese and a layer of parmesan cheese. Repeat layers (rotating the direction of the lasagna noodles) ending with sauce and parmesan cheese.

Bake for 30-40 minutes.
