1/2 cup butter, softened, 1/4 c white (granulated) sugar, 3/4 c packed brown sugar, 1 egg, 1/2 T vanilla extract, 1 1/4 c all purpose flour, 1/2 t baking powder, 1/2 t baking soda, 3/8 t salt, and 1 c chocolate chips.

1.preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. in stand mixer bowl, cream together butter, white sugar and brown sugar.
3. beat in eggs ONE at a time.
4. stir in vanilla.
5. In separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir into creamed mixture, GRADUALLY, until just blended.
6. with rubber scraper, fold in chocolate chips.
7.Shape into golf-ball sized balls, place approximately 2-3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
8.Flatten slightly with rubber scrapper or bottom of a water glass.
9. Bake for 8-10 minutes. (start with 8, you can always add time, but you can never take it back.)
10.Allow cookies to cool for 3-5 munites before cooling on a wire rack.
