Cookie:

1/2 C butter or margarine
1/4 C packed brown sugar
1/2 C powdered sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 C flour

Caramel topping:
1/2 lb light caramels
2/3 C evaporated milk
chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together butter(margarine), brown sugar, powdered sugar, and salt. Blend in egg, vanilla. Gradually add flour. Shape into 1" balls. Place on lightly greased pan. Bake at 350º for 15-18 miutes. Let cool slightly. Put in toothpicks. Combine caramel and evaporated milk in small sauce pan. Heat until caramels melt, stirring occasionally. Dip cookie in mixture then the bottom into chopped nuts. Cool on waxed paper.
