Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 whole chicken, or several chicken breasts
salt and pepper
3-4 chicken bouillon cubes
3-4 cups Bisquick baking mix
milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cover the chicken with water and boil, with salt and pepper, for about an hour until chicken is tender and thoroughly cooked. Add 3-4 chicken bouillon cubes to the water.

If you have time and want to make it healthier, remove the chicken and refrigerate the broth overnight. Then when you are ready to prepare it, you can skim the fat off the top and discard it.

Bone the chicken and add the chicken to the broth. Get it warm again.

Mix the Bisquick with enough milk to form a dough. You don't want to over mix this. Just get it to a consistency that you can lightly roll it out on the counter.

When the broth is boiling, cut up the dough in squares and add it all, one piece at a time, to the broth. Let it boil until the dumplings are cooked. You might want to add a little Bisquick to the water or milk to achieve the desired consistency.

Don't hesitate to use salt and pepper liberally!

*This is one of three recipes of Grandma Bean's that was not written down, but was frequently made by her. I am recalling it as best I can. Some of this you just have to practice and get a feel for. --Martha
