Scald 2 cups milk in a large pot. Stir in: 1/2 cup sugar; 1 cup brown sugar, 8 tsp. salt, 1 stick butter or margarine. Cool to lukewarm

Into a bowl add: 3 cups lukewarm water, 5 pkgs. dry or cake yeast,. Stir until dissolved, then stir this into above milk mixture.

Sift: 8 cups whole wheat flour; 5 cups white all-purpose

Add half the flour to the liquid mixture. Beat until smooth. Add remaining flour mixture. Mix well. Turn out onto floured board and knead for 7-8 minutes. Place into large greased pan or bowl, cover with clean light dish towel. Let rise about an hour or until double in size. Punch down and divide into four loaves.

Place each loaf into a greased loaf pan, cover with light dish towel. and allow to rise another hour or until double in size. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes.
