1 c. shortening or butter
1 c. powder sugar
1 egg
1/2 t. salt
2 c. flour
1/2 t. cream of tartar
1/2 t. soda
1 t. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter, powder sugar and egg the add remaining ingredients. Chill dough 30 min. Roll into walnut size balls. Grease the bottom of a glass and dip on sugar. Flatten the cookies to 1/8" to 1/4". Bake 10-12 min. in 350 degree oven.
