1/2 C. lightly salted water
2 C. pearl onions, or 1 large sweet onion, chopped

Prepared White sauce (see recipe)

Directions:
Directions:
Bring the water to boil in a heavy saucepan. Add the onion and simmer, covered for about 10 min.or until onions have lost firmness. Drain, set aside, reserving liquid. Prepare White Sauce in same container. Return onions to sauce, adding about 1/4 C. of reserved liquid. Keep warm until ready to serve.
