Cornmeal

Directions:
Directions:
Slice okra into rings about 1/4 - 1/2 " thick. Sprinkle with salt and toss to coat. Put in brown paper bag and add enough corn meal to coat. Shake to coat okra rings.

Heat oil 1/4" deep in cast iron skillet. With slotted spoon dip okra out shaking off extra meal. Add to oil. Repeat til all okra is in skillet. Cook until brown on one side then turn over and continue to brown until all okra rings are brown.
