2 1-ounce squares unsweetened chocolate
3 c. sugar
3 T. light corn syrup
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1/4 c. butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine chocolate, sugar, syrup, salt, and milk in buttered 3-qt. saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring until sugar dissolves and chocolate melts. Cook to 225 to 228 without stirring. Remove from heat; add butter (don't stir) and cool until just warm (110). Add vanilla; beat until mixture is of spreading consistency. Frosts 2 9-inch layers.
