Best Ever Banana Muffins

3-4 large very ripe bananas
¾ cup white sugar
1 egg
1/3 cup melted butter or margarine
1 ½ cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ cup raisins (optional)
½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)
12 whole walnuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Mash bananas
Add egg, sugar and melted butter and mix well
Place dry ingredients in separate bowl and combine well
Add dry ingredients to banana mixture and mix just until blended together
Fold in raisins and chopped walnuts (optional)
Top each muffin with whole walnut (optional)
Spray muffin tins with cooking spray or line tins with paper liners
Bake at 375F for 18 minutes
Makes 12 large muffins
These muffins freeze well
