Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups flour... 2 t baking powder... 2 t ground cinnamon... 1/4 t salt... 1 1/2 cups firmly, packed brown sugar... 1/2 cup butter, 1 stick, melted... 2 eggs... 1 T pure vanilla extract... 1 cup, coarsely chopped pecans... 1 package caramels, unwrapped, 14 oz. size... 1/4 cup milk...

Directions:Preheat oven to 350 degrees... Mix flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon together... In a large bowl mix eggs, brown sugar, melted butter , vanilla and chopped pecans together, mixing well... Add the flour mixture and mix all very well... Reserve 1 cup of this mixture and spread the rest into a 9 by 13, greased baking dish that is foil lined... Bake in oven 15 minutes or until batter is firm...
Microwave the caramels and milk for 2 minutes, stir and continue to microwave until all is melted and combined with milk... Cool 5 minutes or until mixture is thickened... Pour this on top of baked mixture and spread to within 1/2 inch of edges ... Drop remaining batter by the tea spoonful over the caramel mixture... Cut through the batter several times with a knife to create a marble effect... Return to oven and bake 18 minutes or until center is set... Cool in baking dish, lift out and cut into squares... |
