Ingredients:
1 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. vanilla extract
2 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars together until light and fluffy. Add vanilla; mix well. In a separate bowl, mix flour, salt and cornstarch. Stir into the butter/sugar mixture until just combined. Roll into golf ball-sized balls and place on parchment-lined cookie sheets. Using your three middle fingers, press the dough down until the edges are about 1/4 inch thick. Bake in a preheated 375º oven for 15 to 18 minutes or until cookies begin to turn golden brown. Let the cookies cool on the sheets for 5 minutes and move to wire racks to finish cooling.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
My local grocery store has been selling homemade cookies like these for years. I was one of their best customers, until I realized $4.00 for 3 cookies was too much to spend. So I decided it was time to make my own. Not only is this recipe great, I think these cookies taste better than the original!
