2 lbs frozen hash browns
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 c chopped onion
1 can cream of chicken or mushroom soup
1/4 c butter
1/2 tsp pepper
1 c sour cream
2 c grated american cheese

Topping:
1/4 c melted butter
2 c crushed cornflakes

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Melt butter in a saucepan. Add salt, pepper, onion, soup, sour cream and cheese. Heat through until cheese is melted. Mix with potatoes and put into a greased casserole dish. Top with 1/4c melted butter and cornflakes. Bake uncovered 45 minutes.
