1 cup shortening, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups flour, sifted
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar together; add eggs and beat until light. Sift together flour, cream of tartar and baking soda. Add salt to creamed mixture; chill. Mix sugar with cinnamon. Form into 1-inch balls and roll in mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake in a preheated 400º oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
