1 lb. sausage, cooked & drained or 4 cups of diced, cooked ham
6 slices of bread or toast, torn into small pieces
3 eggs, slightly beaten
2 1/2 cups grated American cheese
2 1/2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard

Directions:
Directions:
Alternate layers of bread, sausage, cheese (ending with cheese) Combine milk, eggs, salt & mustard & pour over layers. Bake slow in oven (325 degrees) for 30-45 minutes or until knife comes out clean. This recipe is better if refrigerated overnight. Bake at 400 degrees if it has been in the refrigerator overnight. This recipe does freeze well.
